Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Firewall Security Networking Engineer to join our Global IT Network Services team. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in enterprise firewall technologies, with a primary focus on Palo Alto Networks, while providing secondary support for Check Point environments. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls that protect Publicis Groupe's global infrastructure across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor intrusion detection and prevention systems, responding to suspicious activities
  • Deploy zero-day threat protection and develop response strategies
  • Manage endpoint protection technologies to guard against malware
  • Architect and configure secure network solutions, including FW, NGFW, Web Content Filtering
  • Maintain security architecture documentation and generate regular security posture reports
  • Collaborate with IT and compliance teams, providing guidance on security best practices
  • Maintain security policies, procedures, and standards
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, directives and regulations
  • Remain abreast of emerging technologies, cyber threats and security tools
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent background or military experience
  • Project leadership experience - ability to drive organizations and resources to complete required tasks in service of end goals
  • Detailed technical experience in the installation, configuration, and operation of high-end firewall appliances
  • Strong understanding of LAN and WAN networking protocols and technologies, including switching and routing
  • Strong TCP/IP networking skills
  • Dynamic routing skills (BGP, OSPF, etc)
  • Good troubleshooting skills and ability to use tools like tcpdump & Wireshark
  • Application identification
  • Packet capture analysis / fault isolation and remediation
  • Global-scale network design
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with confirmed ability to communicate with senior leaders and technical peers
  • Policy & Governance: Develop, enforce, and audit enterprise-wide security policies, including traffic inspection and access control.
  • Desire to learn on your feet and thrive on the bleeding edge of networking.

Firewall Skills

  • Palo Alto Management: Expert-level configuration and optimization of Palo Alto firewalls (PA-Series) using Panorama for centralized management.
  • Palo Alto SDWAN and Prisma cloud
  • Palo Alto experience using StrataCloud manager for operational issues
  • Hybrid/Cloud Security: Architect and support security controls across on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) using tools like Prisma Access.
  • Secondary Support: Provide operational support, rule management, and troubleshooting for Check Point firewall environments.

Nice to have:

  • Python, Ansible, or Terraform to automate repetitive security tasks and streamline deployment workflows.
  • Engineering and admin experience with Checkpoint firewalls with Provider-1 for centralized management.
