We provide technical guidance through rigorous modeling, simulation, and analytical methods to enhance program decision making and risk management. Our main sponsors possess the policy, warfighting, organizational, and program responsibilities within the Air Force Nuclear Enterprise. Roles & Responsibilities: You will leverage an understanding of wireless communications, RF/analog hardware, antenna systems, RF propagation, or other similar technical disciplines to support a variety of projects depending on your development goals and sponsor needs. This position may also involve working as an individual contributor in a collaborative team environment to analyze advanced networking concepts and address networking challenges to support a variety of projects and sponsor needs. Key Responsibilities: * Provide technical leadership to ensure delivery of safe, reliable, and effective weapon system communications and networking systems.
* Define workplans that support our Air Force Nuclear Enterprise sponsors by understanding their needs and helping them solve their toughest problems.
* Lead and contribute to technical products that enable data-driven decisions and result in impactful mission outcomes.
* Be a thought leader across large acquisition projects; be able to identify the most critical challenges for our Sponsors and set the course to accomplish them.
Basic Qualifications: * Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a BS in a technical discipline, such as Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Computer), Physics, Statistics, Mathematics; or 8 years and Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
* Experience with tactical data links, data forwarding, network routing and transport protocols, topology management, XML technologies, and distributed computing.
* Experience planning, executing, and presenting complex trade studies.
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills for interaction with sponsors, project leaders, team members, and other government agencies. * Significant experience in wireless technologies including RF/analog hardware, antenna design, digital signal processing (DSP), networking or other related technical disciplines
* Must have the ability to coordinate and collaborate across engineering teams and with representatives from a wide range of government, not-for-profit, and commercial organizations. * Experience in systems engineering with expertise across the development lifecycle from concept development, through requirements definition, system development and integration, and into verification.
* Success in leading engineering teams to deliver products and systems on time.
* Wide-ranging knowledge in RF, networking, and systems engineering.
* Knowledgeable in current and evolving DoD and commercial communications systems.
* Significant experience in writing technical reports.
* Possess an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to be cleared up to TS/SCI and SAP.
* U.S. Citizenship required
* This position has a minimum requirement of 4 days a week on-site. Preferred Qualifications: * MS or PhD in technical field with 15+ years of related experience. * Success in leading engineering teams in support of major defense acquisition programs.
* Knowledge of command-and-control systems, cyber security, cryptography, and/or human systems integration.
* Experience with capabilities trade analysis, mission analysis, information assurance, systems integration, and understanding of the relationships between operational, technical, and system architecture
