Job description

Description We're looking for an experienced technology leader to support the IT Director in guiding department strategy and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our systems and infrastructure. In this role, you'll oversee server and network environments, lead key technology projects, and help shape IT policies and best practices. You will directly supervise system, network, and security staff-providing coaching, setting priorities, and fostering professional growth.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership and operational oversight. *This position requires being fully onsite. Duties 45% Assist IT Administrator (Director) in planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the operations of the IT Department.

Provide leadership, supervision and performance management for assigned technical staff, including hiring, training, coaching and conducting performance evaluations. Oversee the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and security of the organization's server infrastructure, operating systems, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and cloud-based environments. Ensures the availability, reliability, performance, and security of critical information systems and network services through proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and incident management.

20% Develops, implements, and enforces information technology policies, procedures, standards, and best practices related to systems administration, network management, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery. Manages technology projects related to infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, cloud migrations, cybersecurity improvements, and network enhancements. Oversees vendor relationships, contract administration, procurement activities, and service-level agreements related to infrastructure and network services.

5% Provides advanced technical guidance and serves as an escalation point for complex technology issues. Assumes responsibility for departmental operations and decision-making in the absence of the Director of Information Technology. 25% Directly supervises system administrators, network administrators and security personnel.

Establishes performance expectations and work priorities. Assigns and reviews work, monitors productivity and ensures service levels are achieved. Provides mentoring, professional development opportunities, and succession planning for technical staff.

Addresses employee relations mattersin accordance with organizational policies and procedures. 5% Other related duties as assigned Qualifications Completion of undergraduate core program coursework in information technology, Computer Science, Network Engineer or related discipline 3-5 years experience working with Microsoft or Linux server, systems, and software environment required. At least 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience.

Professional certification such as ITIL Foundation or VMWare certification or a Microsoft Server/Cloud administration certification or equivalent, preferred.
