Communications Network Engineer - Senior (w/ active Secret)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Critical Solutions has an immediate need for an experienced Communications Network Engineer to support a federal program in Norfolk, VA.

The Communications Network Engineer will evaluate communication hardware and software, as well as troubleshoot Local Area Networks/Base Area Networks/Wide Area Networks (LAN/BAN/WAN), and other network related problems.

PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs a variety of network engineering tasks, which are broad in nature and are related to the design and implementation of integrated networks, including labor, hardware, software, and support facilities and/or equipment.
  • Schedule conversions and cutovers along with administering LAN/BAN/WANs.
  • Coordinate the activities of Network Technicians assigned to specific network engineering projects to include all responsible users and sites.
  • Troubleshoot and develop technical solutions to complex issues for the customer
  • Plan and perform network engineering research, design, development, and other assignments in conformance with network design engineering and customer specifications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field of study and 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Specialized experience in the performance and configuration of networks as well as the integration and test of complex large-scale computer integrated networks.
  • Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II plus CCNA
  • Ability to work with many different team members across the program to include sub-contractors and the customer
  • Strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of IP network/subnet addressing

CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid DoD 8570 IAT Level II: Security+ or higher Certification.
  • Must have a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Clearance Requirement: Possess an active DoD Secret Clearance. In addition, selected candidate must undergo background investigation (BI) and finger printing by the federal agency and successfully pass the preceding to qualify for the position. US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.

CRITICAL SOLUTIONS PAY AND BENEFITS:

Salary range $164,000 - $212,000. The salary range for this position represent the typical salary range for this job level and this does not guarantee a specific salary. Compensation is based upon multiple factors such as responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, certifications, and other requirements.
