Job description

Job Summary:
Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the design, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise and tactical networks for the Department of War. The role involves leading the implementation of network infrastructure, managing wireless LANs, conducting cybersecurity scans, and providing support for network issues.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and data center connectivity.
• Lead the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of wireless LANs, controllers, and access points.
• Conduct network performance tuning, analyze packet data using tools such as Wireshark, and troubleshoot escalated network issues.
• Conduct and document cybersecurity vulnerability scans to help ensure compliance with DoW standards.
• Develop and maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and technical designs.
• Provide first-line support to troubleshoot and resolve network issues across enterprise and tactical environments.
• Implement DoW cybersecurity compliance standards and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
• Use your extensive technical expertise to solve challenging networking problems while providing guidance and collaborating with junior staff.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience implementing Cisco Software-defined networks with solutions such as Catalyst Center, ISE, Provider Connectivity Assurance, VXLAN, and Software-defined Access
• Experience with networking tools, such as Wireshark or SolarWinds
• Experience configuring wireless LANs, including wireless controllers, access points, and endpoint devices and maintaining firewalls, such as Palo Alto, Cisco or Fortinet
• Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols such as TCP, IP, DHCP, ARP, HTTP, and SNMP
• Knowledge of routing and switching technologies and cybersecurity principles and best practices
• Ability to create and interpret basic network diagrams and documentation
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
• Secret clearance
• HS diploma or GED and 10+ years of experience in networking roles, or Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience in networking roles
• CompTIA Security+ Certification
Preferred:
• Experience with Aruba or Cisco wireless solutions, such as Orchestrator, Wireless Controllers, and Access Points
• Experience configuring and testing SD-WAN technologies, such as Aruba EdgeConnect or Juniper SSR
• Experience designing and deploying Zero Trust architectures to support highly secure networks
• Knowledge of cloud networking environments, including AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Knowledge of scripting or automation, such as Python or Ansible
• DoW 8140 Compliance Certifications, such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA CASP+, or CISSP Certifications
• Industry certifications, such as Aruba Certified Mobility Associate (ACMA) or Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) Certifications
