Overall, networking jobs can be high paying depending on the role, location, and level of experience.

What jobs make $3,000 a month without a degree?

Networking associates or related IT roles can earn around $3,000 per month with relevant certifications like CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA, and practical experience. Many of these jobs involve troubleshooting, network setup, and maintenance in environments that value skills over formal degrees.

What entry level jobs can you get with Network+?

Networking Associates with Network+ certification can qualify for entry-level roles such as network technician, help desk technician, or IT support specialist. These positions typically involve troubleshooting, maintaining network hardware, and supporting network infrastructure, often requiring familiarity with networking tools and protocols.

What are Networking Associates?

Networking Associates are entry- to mid-level professionals responsible for supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer networks within an organization. They assist in configuring network hardware, monitoring network performance, and providing technical support to end users. Networking Associates often work with routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices to ensure smooth and secure communication across the organization's systems. Their role is vital in maintaining uptime and resolving connectivity issues promptly.

How can I make 2000 a week working from home?

Networking associates can increase their earnings by gaining specialized certifications, such as Cisco CCNA or CompTIA Network+, and developing skills in network design, troubleshooting, and security. Working freelance or consulting for multiple clients, offering remote support, or managing network projects can also help reach higher weekly income levels, especially with experience and a strong professional network.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Networking Associate, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Networking Associate, you need a solid understanding of networking fundamentals, such as TCP/IP, routing, and switching, often supported by a bachelor’s degree in IT or related fields. Familiarity with network hardware, Cisco or Juniper devices, and certifications like CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA are typically required. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication help you troubleshoot issues and support users efficiently. These skills and qualifications are crucial for maintaining secure, reliable network operations and enabling smooth business connectivity.

How does a Networking Associate typically collaborate with other IT professionals within an organization?

Networking Associates work closely with system administrators, security teams, and technical support staff to ensure the smooth operation of an organization's network infrastructure. They often participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss network needs, assist with troubleshooting connectivity issues, and coordinate upgrades or maintenance tasks. This role requires effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset, as Networking Associates frequently provide input on network designs and help implement best practices across teams.

Compensation:
Expected Annual Base Salary $130,000-$155,000 + bonus + profit sharing.
Responsibilities:
Network Operations & Engineering
  • Own day-to-day operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting of on-premises and cloud-connected network infrastructure across global offices and data centers.
  • Lead incident response for complex network issues, performing root cause analysis and driving resolution with minimal supervision.
  • Manage global carrier services and connectivity across EMEA, APAC, and the Americas.
  • Maintain and improve operational documentation, including network diagrams, runbooks, and change records.
  • Participate in an after-hours/on-call rotation for critical incidents.
Infrastructure Design & Deployment
  • Design and implement network solutions for LAN, WAN, wireless, and hybrid cloud connectivity, working within and contributing to established architectural standards.
  • Configure and deploy Aruba and/or Cisco infrastructure, including routing, switching, and wireless platforms.
  • Lead network hardware and software lifecycle management, including capacity planning, patching, and firmware upgrades.
  • Evaluate new technologies and provide recommendations to senior architects.
Cloud & Hybrid Connectivity
  • Implement and support hybrid connectivity between on-premises environments and AWS/Azure, including AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, and VPN configurations.
  • Apply cloud networking concepts (VPCs, VNets, routing, security groups) to support both operational and project-level needs.
  • Collaborate with cloud and systems teams to ensure consistent and secure network integration across environments.
Automation & IaC
  • Actively develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Git for network provisioning and configuration management.
  • Write and maintain scripts (Python, Shell, or PowerShell) to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and support the team's broader IaC adoption goals.
  • Serve as a practitioner-level resource for automation tooling within the network team.
Firewall & Security
  • Administer Check Point firewalls, including rulebase management, policy optimization, and VPN configuration.
  • Manage Aruba ClearPass NAC policies for network access control, authentication, and segmentation.
  • Ensure adherence to our network security standards across all environments and assist in driving compliance across the broader infrastructure.
Mentorship & Collaboration
  • Provide technical guidance and day-to-day mentorship to Network Engineers on the team.
  • Participate in design and architecture discussions, contributing operational insight and engineering perspective.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with infrastructure, security, and cloud teams on shared initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of enterprise networking experience in a hands-on engineering or operations role.
  • Networking Expertise:
    • Strong hands-on experience with Aruba and/or Cisco LAN, WAN, and wireless infrastructure.
    • Solid understanding of dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and Layer 2 technologies (VLANs, STP, QoS).
    • Experience administering Check Point firewalls, including policy management and VPN troubleshooting.
    • Working knowledge of AWS and/or Azure networking (VPCs/VNets, routing, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, VPN connectivity).
  • Automation & IaC:
