About the team and position

We are looking for an approachable Associate Network Administrator to join our Technology Services team! In this role, you'll be a valued teammate always willing to go above and beyond to support our Carvana family. We love smart doers with bright ideas who can put their game-face on, tackle new challenges, and juggle multiple priorities. Whether the task is as simple as connecting a monitor or as complex as tuning a flux capacitor to precisely 1.21 gigawatts-we provide the support!

You'll collaborate closely with our Network Administrators, Engineers, and Architects to ensure the timely delivery of quality technical support to the business. What you'll be doing

You will be responsible for maintaining the network and systems infrastructure that keeps the organization running.  

Additionally, you will be:

  • Providing network support across the organization to nearly 300 sites (and growing!). Some travel might be required.
  • Consistently monitor and troubleshoot network stability and performance.
  • Serve as escalated support for our support team to help resolve issues.
  • Firmware upgrades to various types of Network equipment.
  • Assist in implementing standards, preparing documentation and drawings.
  • Participate in an On-Call rotation.
  • Assisting in design, planning, implementation and maintenance of the company's IT network infrastructure.
  • Log all technical issues with as much detail as possible.
  • Ensure policy adherence and provide support for both internal and external security controls.
  • Communicate and collaborate closely with all  internal Technology Services Teams.
  • Document solutions to new problems and share them with the rest of the team.
  • Work with vendors in-person or on the phone to resolve an issue.
  • Set up cabling and wiring for the network as needed.
  • Rack and stack network equipment to include decommissioning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you should have

  • Associates or Bachelor's  degree in Information Technology or 1+ years equivalent related experience.
  • Basic hands-on experience with Switches, Firewalls,  Routers, Wireless and VPNs.
  • Preferred professional certification such as Cisco CISSP or CCNA.
  • Basic skills administering Active Directory, DHCP, and other network services.
  • Basic understanding of network protocols, ports and methods. (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF).  
  • Basic understanding of Cloud networking environments in GCP, Azure or AWS.
  • Basic knowledge in troubleshooting skills with VOIP/IP Phones.
  • Experience with G-Suite and  MS Office.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Highly self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of ITIL foundation, SLA's, metrics and reporting.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.
  • Must be able to carry and transport up to 70 pounds up to 20 feet.
  • Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.
