Saalex Corporation is seeking multiple Network Engineer I in Tidewater, VA and San Diego, CA. Salary: $75k-$130k (depending on experience)

The Network Engineer I supports the Navy by designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable network architectures across global Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) environments. This role focuses on network engineering, integration, and optimization of enterprise and tactical network systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in network engineering tasks including configuration and deployment support.
  • Support troubleshooting of network issues and system performance.
  • Assist with implementation of network designs and updates.
  • Maintain network documentation and configuration records.
  • Work with senior engineers to support integration activities.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

Required:

  • 1–3 years of experience in network engineering or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Networking, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with network technologies (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs).
  • Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Security+ depending on level).

Desired:

  • Experience supporting DoD or Navy network engineering environments.
  • Familiarity with network automation, scripting, or SDN technologies.
  • Experience with secure network architectures and boundary protection systems.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to design and implement scalable network solutions.

Security Clearance:

  • Must be eligible to obtain a Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance. Active clearances preferred. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
