Job description

Job Summary

Rough Country is seeking an experienced Network Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team. This position is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and continuous improvement of the company's network infrastructure, servers, and enterprise systems across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to support a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Administration: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, VPNs, and network connectivity.
  • Systems Administration: Administer Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365.
  • Enterprise Systems: Support and maintain business-critical systems, including SAP ERP and Körber WMS, while working with internal departments and vendors to resolve technical issues.
  • Cybersecurity: Monitor network security, implement security best practices, manage endpoint protection, perform vulnerability remediation, and assist with cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Infrastructure Monitoring: Monitor server, network, and system performance to proactively identify and resolve issues while minimizing downtime.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery: Maintain backup systems and assist with disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity initiatives.
  • User & Access Management: Manage user accounts, permissions, security groups, and access to enterprise applications and network resources.
  • Project Support: Lead or assist with network upgrades, infrastructure improvements, hardware deployments, and system implementations.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with software, hardware, telecommunications, and managed service providers to resolve issues and support strategic IT initiatives.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network diagrams, system configurations, standard operating procedures, and IT assets.
  • Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support for infrastructure and enterprise systems while serving as an escalation point for complex IT issues.
  • On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed to ensure business continuity.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in network and systems administration.
  • Strong experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
  • Experience supporting SAP ERP and Körber WMS in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper‑V preferred.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, endpoint security, and disaster recovery best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or Cisco (CCNA/CCNP) are preferred.
  • Filling of the current position will be based upon qualifications, which include (but are not limited to): quality of work, willingness to work where and as needed, ability to cooperate and communicate with fellow employees, management, and customer service representative. An above average attendance record is required.
