PMO Technical Operations SpecialistJob Summary

The Managed Operations Device Technician supports the Industrial Networking Solutions (INS) Project Management Office (PMO) through hands-on management of device life-cycle activities for Managed Operations customers, including provisioning, deployment readiness, returns processing, and asset tracking.

This role ensures that devices are properly staged, deployed, maintained, and recovered in alignment with project and operational requirements. The technician partners with Project Managers and Coordinators to maintain accuracy, quality, and accountability across the full device life cycle.

In addition to program responsibilities, this role serves as a shared technical resource supporting provisioning and support teams as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Execute device life-cycle management for Managed Operations customers, including provisioning, refreshes, decommissioning, and returns processing.
  • Receive, inspect, and process returned equipment from Managed Operations customers, ensuring accurate tracking, condition validation, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate updates in inventory, ERP, and project tracking systems, including device inventories, serial tracking, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with PMO, Managed Operations, and Warehouse teams to determine disposition of returned equipment (redeploy, repair, or retire).
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to align provisioning activities with project schedules and customer deadlines.
  • Ensure quality control, device labeling, and documentation standards are met for all staged hardware.
  • Perform hands-on configuration, firmware updates, and testing of routers, switches, and cellular devices for PMO-managed activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve provisioning issues in collaboration with Engineering, Provisioning, and Support teams.
  • Assist with project readiness reviews and technical validations prior to shipment or field deployment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of provisioning workflows and documentation within PMO-managed programs.
  • Serve as a shared technical resource supporting Provisioning and Support teams during peak workloads or operational needs, as capacity allows.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of technical provisioning, staging, or network equipment configuration.
  • Working knowledge of networking hardware including routers, switches, and cellular gateways.
  • Proficiency with firmware management, IP configuration, and basic network setup.
  • Attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and ability to follow technical procedures.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in electronics, networking, or IT.
  • CompTIA Network+ or similar certification.
  • Experience supporting managed service or recurring operations environments.
  • Familiarity with ERP or ticketing systems for asset tracking and project documentation.
  • Previous experience working in or with product staging and configuration operations.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • On-site role requiring hands-on work in a lab environment.
