Summary:
This position is responsible for evaluating, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing network infrastructure and applications components. Ensure that network performance meets the company and user’s satisfaction and it’s working effectively without interruption, by monitoring the network system.  Responsible for providing technical support to all users at all levels within the company.
Essential Functions:
  • Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures.
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
  • Configure, implement, test, patch, troubleshoot, or maintain firewalls, web filters, switches, routers, VPN’s, encryption, antimalware solutions and wireless networks in compliance with best practices.
  • Support in the design setup and configure complex wireless networking that supports open or secure access and the ability to support voice and video applications.
  • Manages and troubleshoots network and internet connectivity throughout the organization.
  • Monitor network performance, respond to alerts, and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Provides installation, configuration, support, and updates, to network devices, firewalls, switches, VoIP equipment, Wi-Fi antennas, security appliances, and VPN access.
  • Performs troubleshooting analysis of network devices, workstations, and associated systems.
  • Assist in the documentation of network problems and resolutions for future reference.
  • Collaborate with external contractors and airlines personnel in the integration of their system with the airport system.
  • Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors to ensure that the network stays operational.
  • Actively contribute to increasing the availability of our services by providing iterative improvements to existing infrastructure solutions.
  • Contribute to regular security and risk assessments, refine systems to support the findings of these assessments and implement additional systems as needs arise to ensure an advanced operational and security position.
  • Provide technical support to airlines and company equipment.
  • Execute any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology from an accredited university or related experience in supporting regulated systems.
  • The position requires three (3) years of related experience.
  • CCNA, CCNP routing and switching, Network+, or advanced networking training.
  • FortiGate multi-threat security systems I and II and network training (switch and core).
  • VoIP intermediate or advanced training.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Language skills in Spanish and English. Ability to read and understand instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and make simple presentations of information, effectively, an individual or small groups of customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Customer Service Oriented.
  • Work with mathematical concepts such as probability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals skills. Ability to compute rates, proportions, and percentages, and draw and interpret simple graphs. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Proficient with office equipment, computers, calculators, photocopy and fax machine and phone.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving some variables in common situations.
  • Participates in projects to implement, test, and design IT systems, modules, and application.
  • Extensive knowledge working with TCP/IPv4 & v6, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Design, Implementation, and Support of LAN, WAN, Wireless, and Security solutions.
  • Strong knowledge in static routing and routing protocols.
  • Expert understanding of firewall configuration and maintenance.
  • Strong experience with Remote access and site-to-site VPNs.
  • Experience with Load Balancers.
  • Solving general network and security problems (firewalls, routing, NAT, etc.).
  • Experience with network monitoring and security products.
