Job Summary
Northrop Grumman is seeking a
Network Engineer 3 to support multiple programs within the
Connectivity and Networked Solutions (CNS) Business Unit. The selected candidate will design, implement, secure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure supporting mission-critical defense systems.
The role focuses on network architecture, routing and switching, SD-WAN technologies, and network security while supporting both current and future networking requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise network communication systems.
- Develop network architecture, specifications, and detailed schematics.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, hubs, and other network devices.
- Support network operations, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Conduct network testing and validate system performance.
- Evaluate new networking technologies and recommend improvements.
- Support network security initiatives and ensure secure communications.
- Provide hardware and software recommendations for scalable network solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams supporting defense programs.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of experience
OR
- Master's degree with 3+ years of experience
OR
- PhD with 1+ year of experience
- CompTIA Network+ certification (or equivalent)
- Experience with:
- Juniper Networks
- SD-WAN
- Cisco Routers & Switches
- Active Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA Security+
- Cisco CCNA Certification
- Experience supporting secure enterprise or DoD networks
