Job description

The Embedded Software Test Engineer 2 is responsible for supporting the full software development lifecycle, including requirements definition, architecture and detailed design, implementation of embedded and application-level software, and comprehensive testing and validation. This role also contributes to the development of software tools and graphical user interfaces (GUIs) used for product testing, production support, and test data collection.
Are You Looking To:
  • Take on programming responsibilities including but not limited to: Linux, Python, C/C++, Lab Windows, STM32
  • Create and set up reliable and configurable modular software development environments
  • Develop test platforms and data capture systems, storing data to networked locations and databases
  • Setup test stations to assist with the programming and test of manufactured products
  • Create software packages that work as APIs for ease of customer integration and customization
  • Create demonstration GUI based programs to help advertise and promote dataMate products

Are You Ready To:
  • Interface directly with customers and internal teams and will require strong technical communication skills to clarify requirements and explain implementation details
  • Create detailed software requirements documentation based on customer and internal specifications, reviews and clarifications
  • Develop unit and integration level test plans and perform associated testing both on bench and in target applications
  • Coordinate software issue investigation and resolution including bench and module level troubleshooting both internally and onsite with customers
  • Maintain a system of version control and active repository of all software creations and revisions.
  • Completes other duties as assigned

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's (B.S.) in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of embedded software implementation and design experience using C code, with a strong understanding of C code fundamentals and best practices, including keywords and pointers
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with ARM-based board bring up, low-level hardware and driver installation, and debugging
  • 3+ years of experience with peripherals including SPI, UART, I2C, and eMMC
  • Experience with ethernet switch and command 10/100/1000/10G, including 7-layer Ethernet stack preferred
  • Familiarity with SGMII, GMII, and MII Host MAC/PHY interfaces preferred
  • Experience with Marvell, NXP, STMicroelectronics, and Raspberry Pi ARM-based processors preferred
