Primary Responsibilities
  • Installs and maintains network communication infrastructure components, such as routers, switches, firewalls, SDWAN, wireless systems, VPN, cabling, etc. Maintains network equipment and network management systems at correct software levels. Troubleshoots network communication and configuration problems.
  • Maintains voice systems and infrastructure components such as SIP, PRI and analog devices.
  • Recommends and prepares equipment configurations for additions and modifications to the network infrastructure to meet the needs of voice and data applications and users consistent with established organizational standards and practices.
  • Monitors, maintains, and reports network performance and resource utilization; projects future utilization and recommends capacity and upgrade approaches. Analyzes network traffic to resolve and prevent problems.
  • Maintains various naming, VLAN, and address assignment systems and related servers consistent with Garber standards and operational requirements.
  • Participates in project teams to implement network related projects throughout organization.
  • Consults with users, IT Services, and others in the organization on network issues and capabilities and other areas of expertise.
  • Participates in the disaster recovery planning process as it relates to the networking infrastructure.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in rotating on-call shifts for network and voice related issues
  • Availability to travel locally and occasionally to all Garber facilities nationwide
  • Fill in or assist where needed for the Systems Admin team
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Associates Degree or two years completed toward a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in Computer/Information Science/Business, and a minimum of five (5) years of technical experience in the field is required. Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Candidates with relevant certifications, as well as experience with project management and network operations are preferred. (CompTIA Network+, CCNA a plus)
  • Experience supporting with network circuits, MPLS networks, SDWAN and other LAN/WAN technologies.
  • Experience maintaining, and administering Cisco routers and switches in a large multi-location production environment
  • Experience in administration, operations and troubleshooting of Fortinet firewalls and Fortimanager
  • Experience in administration, operations and troubleshooting of Cisco UCM, UCCX and Unity voice systems.
  • Experience in administration, operations and troubleshooting of Ruckus wireless systems
  • Experience in administration and operations of Windows Active Directory is a plus
  • Highly developed verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates a good working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies.
