Overview

CIBC is seeking an experienced Consultant, Network Security & Governance to join our dynamic information security team. This role will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure networks for data center, branch and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in network security, cloud security, risk management, and compliance, and will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to safeguard our digital assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network Security Strategy: Develop, implement, and maintain security strategies for perimeter security, network segmentation, network access control (NAC), cloud access security broker (CASB), and network security within public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), ensuring alignment with CIBC's risk management and compliance objectives.
  • Automation: Design and deploy automated security controls and monitoring solutions to ensure efficiency, consistency, and rapid response across cloud and endpoint environments.
  • Risk Management: Conduct risk-based assessments for new and existing cloud and network solutions, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Security Service Management: Build, integrate, and maintain security solutions for cloud and their respective network platforms.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure all cloud and network environments comply with internal security standards and regulatory requirements. Manage audits, reporting, and continuous monitoring activities.
  • Security Reviews: Perform comprehensive security reviews of infrastructure-as-code, system designs, and technical architectures. Provide recommendations and guidance to engineering teams.
  • Integration: Collaborate with other security and IT teams to integrate cloud and network security with broader security operations.
  • Employee Training: Support the development and delivery of training programs to promote a culture of data protection and security awareness across the organization.
  • Scalability: Design and implement secure cloud network architectures that support high-velocity business growth and scalability requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, PCNSE, CCNP Security, AWS/Azure Security) preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in cloud security, network security, or related roles.
  • Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and associated security tools and services.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security frameworks, automation, and cloud networking practices.
  • Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Terraform).
  • In-depth understanding of risk management, compliance, and governance in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with network security technologies, SDR, cloud networking, gateways and firewalls.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $130,000.00 - $155,000.00 for the Chicago market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
