Transformation Project Manager
Location: Remote - U.S.
Travel: Up to 25% within the U.S.
Job Type: Contract 6 months +
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Transformation Project Manager to support a major strategic transformation program within the energy and retail sector. This role will help develop strategic roadmaps, coordinate cross-functional workstreams, and drive high-impact initiatives from planning through execution.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, project leadership, analytical skills, and executive-level communication and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and support strategic roadmaps across multiple business workstreams.
  • Lead transformation initiatives using structured project management methodologies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and senior business leaders.
  • Develop project charters, plans, timelines, milestones, and governance materials.
  • Track risks, issues, dependencies, and overall project performance.
  • Analyze business data, financial models, KPIs, and business cases to support decisions.
  • Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare executive-ready presentations, strategic updates, and recommendations.
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions, align priorities, and drive consensus.
  • Support change management, adoption planning, and organizational transition activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business performance, processes, and outcomes.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in project management, consulting, transformation, strategy, or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading or supporting business transformation programs.
  • Strong project management experience across multiple workstreams and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis and scenario planning.
  • Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, KPIs, and business case analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create executive-level presentations and recommendations.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively navigate ambiguity and changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in energy, oil & gas, downstream retail, convenience retail, or mobility.
  • Experience with retail operations, customer experience, merchandising, store performance, or network optimization.
  • Experience with organizational change management and transition planning.
  • Experience using MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana, or similar project management tools.
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization platforms.
  • Consulting or management consulting experience.
