Job description

Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is 100% on-site at our Irvine, CA location.

As a Network Analyst located at our Irvine, CA site, your primary duties are to install and maintain

hardware and software based on our business needs. You also test all firewalls across the company and

oversee user access to the system, as the security of the data transmitted over VPNs is essential. This role

will also provide on-site IT support for the Irvine site in conjunction with the rest of the IT team. Building

and maintaining the network infrastructure across all ADDMAN sites will be important to this role.

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. citizen

status.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Technical support: Providing technical support for network components, including hardware and software.
  • Network performance: Monitoring network performance and integrity and suggesting improvements. Identify network requirements and assist with upgrades.
  • Design, configure, and maintain Fortinet firewalls across all sites. Develop and maintain security policies, NAT policies, VPNs, SD-WAN, and segmentation strategies.
  • Lead firewall upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Troubleshoot complex firewall, routing, and security-related issues.
  • Analyze logs and security events in coordination with cybersecurity teams.
  • Troubleshoot IT issues with hardware, including switches, computers, and other devices in the company.
  • Leads the development, implementation and maintenance of network infrastructure.
  • Uses knowledge of networking systems to help plan and install internal and external networks.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching.
  • Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols and WAN technologies.
  • Creates and/or updates network systems and cable plant documentation in various systems per established processes and standard
  • Independently analyze, isolate and diagnose complex problems, recommend remedial actions and implement resolution.
  • Works with cyber security to implement system security measures, assists with computer security plans and documentation and provides technical guidance and training.
  • Resolves cyber security issues by implementing and maintaining innovative technical solutions.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Technical knowledge: An advanced understanding of network architecture, topologies, protocols, and programming applications.
  • Problem-solving skills: The ability to use diagnostic techniques and protocols to solve network related problems.
  • Communication skills: The ability to follow technical instructions and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • IT Support Experience: Experience with managing and resolving IT support tickets.
  • Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing advanced network issues including configuration issues, routing issues, performance concerns, software bugs, ISP connectivity, ISP routing and hardware failures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 5–8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure, including firewalls, routing, switching, VPNs, wireless networks, and multi-site WAN environments.
  • Fortinet NSE / FCF / FCSS certifications
  • CCNA or CCNP
  • Network+
  • Security+
  • Analytical and communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and other mandatory safety equipment.
  • For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sit and stand as needed. Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
  • Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required.
  • Ability and comfortability to work in small confine spaces while following proper safety protocol.
