We are looking for new team members to join our excellent StarTouch team on our mission to create jobs and improve the quality of life in the Northwest USA.
The Tier I Support Technician is primarily responsible for providing technical support by phone to customers. The Tier I tech will work to resolve technical issues. If remote resolution of the issue is not possible the Tier I Tech will escalate the ticket to the Tier II or schedule dispatch to a field technician.
Must have:
  • 1-2 years of technical support, and good understanding of networking fundamentals
  • Basic troubleshooting skills
  • Good understanding of LAN, WAN, and WLAN networks
  • Good understanding of networking protocols (DHCP, IPv4, OSPF, and BGP)
  • Basic understanding of Cisco networking devices (switches and routers)
  • Experience working with customer management and ticketing software.
  • Self-motivated, and able to work productively with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communications skills, and ability to document technical issues
  • Experience escalating trouble tickets in a timely manner
  • Good organizational skills to manage different tasks
  • Customer service training (ability to maintain call control and work with customers to resolve issues)
  • Flexible schedule (on-call required)

Good to have:
  • Cisco networking certifications (CCNA)
  • Basic knowledge of microwave communications
