Job description

Job Description

Description

This role is for a CCIE-certified engineer who brings serious data center expertise and hands-on cloud networking experience to match. You have around 8 years in the field, deep expertise in data center networking, and proven experience bridging on-premises infrastructure and AWS cloud connectivity. You’ll work on a complex, large-scale environment where your ability to operate independently and deliver technically sound solutions makes a real difference.

Work Location

This position supports a program based in the Woodlawn, MD area. Candidates located outside a 50-mile radius of that area are welcome to apply. For those candidates, regular onsite presence will generally not be required; however, we do ask that new hires plan to spend approximately one week onsite following the completion of system access and credentialing to meet the team and become familiar with the environment. Ongoing, we’d ask for at least one day onsite per quarter — or a combined multi-day visit that covers multiple quarters — where feasible.

Please note that this is a full-time, direct-hire role.  Due to segments of our customer base, we cannot sponsor employment visas. It is required that you have the ability to obtain and maintain a public trust.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical work as a mid-to-senior team member, taking ownership of your area within larger projects while operating within BlueAlly’s quality standards
  • Lead specific workstreams in data center and cloud networking engagements based on your area of expertise
  • Produce clear, accurate technical documentation and present findings or recommendations to client stakeholders
  • Recognize when project-impacting issues need to go up the chain and act on it

Position Requirements

  • Around 8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking, with focused depth in data center and cloud network environments
  • Active CCIE certification required; CCIE Data Center track preferred
  • Deep expertise in data center networking including VXLAN, EVPN, and multi-site data center design and operations
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud connectivity including Direct Connect, VPC networking, Transit Gateway, VPC peering, VPN gateways, and related constructs
  • Familiar with Cisco Nexus platforms and NX-OS; experience with Cisco ACI or other SDN/overlay technologies a plus
  • Comfortable working independently between direction-setting touchpoints — you know when to move and when to check in
  • Able to produce polished technical documents — design deliverables, RFP content, deployment documentation — independently and to a professional standard
  • Understands how project financials and forecasting work; independently manages your own forecast

Education

  • Active CCIE certification required; Data Center track preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
