As a Electrician - Data Center Operator, you'll be on the front lines of daily operations at one of our mission-critical facilities. Your role will involvemanaging the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and optimization of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure supporting eStruxture's mission-critical facilities. Youwill be responsible for facility monitoring, preventative maintenance, optimization, health and safety, incident response/reporting, as well as planning & prioritizing corrective maintenance activities. You'll report directly to the Data Center Manager and play a key part in ensuring our infrastructure performs reliably and efficiently.

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:


Responsible for Facility Health & Safety


  • Management of both preventative and corrective infrastructure maintenance
  • Develop, maintain, and adhere to procedural and technical documentation
  • Respond to fault conditions, diagnose, and assist with root cause analysis/repair/remediation
  • Management of local data center infrastructure and asset lifecycle
  • Compliance with relevant CSA, SSAE 18, ISO and PCI controls
  • Participate in weekly change management meetings, presenting to the Change Advisory Board, working with vendors and team members to create supporting MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs
  • Identifying areas for operational optimization, adhering to best practices
  • Monitoring of local data center infrastructure


Supporting site operations


  • Vendor/Contractor coordination and supervision
  • Ensure timely resolution and/or escalation of customer issues
  • Ensure physical and remote security policies and procedures are being strictly followed
  • Create trouble tickets, log site visitors, and carry out shipping and receiving procedures
  • Provide best in class customer service
  • Maintain cleanliness of the data center and facility areas
  • Rack and stack various IT hardware into racks
  • Install and test copper and fiber cables throughout the data center and various computer rooms


Working Conditions

  • Full-time role: Minimum 40 hours/week (Monday-Friday).
  • Rotating on-call responsibilities (typically 1 week every 3-4 weeks).
  • Occasional evening, weekend, or extended hours may be required.
  • Some roles may include 24x7 shiftwork depending on location.
  • Interaction with customers and vendors is routine.


What experience, certifications, and skills do you need?


Experience

  • 4+ years' experience in data center, facility, or in mission critical environments.
  • Experience working with Electrical & Mechanical systems with an emphasis on building operations, including BMS/EPMS and BAS systems & software. *
  • Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL principles*

Education/Certification/Designation


  • Electrical certifications an asset - Journeyman Electricians, Electrical Engineering Technologists etc. *
  • Mechanical/HVAC certifications an asset *
  • CPR, AED, AWP certifications an asset
  • Ability to obtain Reliability Clearance Status (+5 years Canadian residency)
  • ASP training an asset


Competencies


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing/document control
  • Extremely process driven and high degree of quality, precision and care needed.
  • Understanding of Data Center Tiering classifications (UTI) as well as thermal guidelines and policy (ASHRAE TC9.9 etc.)
  • Able to deliver independently and take lead on local initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Physically able to lift up to 50LBS, Climb Ladders/Work at heights


Technical Skills/Knowledge


  • Strong Knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, and Life Safety Systems including the following:
    • MV/LV Power Distribution Equipment (25kV/13.8kV/480V/277V), UPS's, ATS's, Emergency Generator Systems, Automation/PLC's/VFD's etc.
    • CRAC/AHU's/FCU's, Condensers, Pumps, Compressors, Control Logic etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting & analytical skills
  • BMS/EPMS/CMMS Operator Knowledge

En tant qu'electricien - operateur de centre de donnees, vous serez en premiere ligne des operations quotidiennes dans l'une de nos installations strategiques. Votre role consistera a gerer les operations quotidiennes, la maintenance et l'optimisation de l'infrastructure electrique et mecanique qui soutient les installations critiques d'eStruxture. Vous rendrez compte directement au responsable du centre de donnees et jouerez un role cle pour garantir la fiabilite et l'efficacite de notre infrastructure.

Conditions de travail

  • Poste a temps plein : 40 heures par semaine minimum (du lundi au vendredi).
  • Prise de garde par rotation (generalement une semaine toutes les 3 a 4 semaines).
  • Des horaires en soiree, le week-end ou des heures supplementaires peuvent etre occasionnellement requis.
  • Certains postes peuvent impliquer un travail poste 24 heures sur 24, 7 jours sur 7, selon le lieu d'affectation.

Experience

  • Au moins 4 ans d'experience dans un centre de donnees, des installations techniques ou des environnements critiques.
  • Experience dans la gestion des systemes electriques et mecaniques, notamment dans le domaine de l'exploitation des batiments, y compris les systemes et logiciels BMS/EPMS et BAS. *
  • Experience des systemes de gestion des tickets et des principes ITIL*


Formation / Certifications

  • Certifications en electricite : un atout - electriciens qualifies, techniciens en genie electrique, etc. *
  • Certifications en mecanique/CVC : un atout *
  • Certifications en RCP, DAE et AWP : un atout
  • Capacite a obtenir une habilitation de securite (+5 ans de residence au Canada)
