Provides daily ongoing deployment, configuration, support, administration, maintenance and technical solutions to various technology components that make up the IT Infrastructure environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As a member of the Enterprise network team a candidate will be expected to participate in both project related work as well as day to day operational support.

  • Provide general support across multiple network environments, including campus, data center, and WAN.

  • Provide firewall support to include day to day troubleshooting of connectivity requests and VPN tunnels

  • Complete after hours changes as needed

  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

  • Willingness to work on site to support Campus network environments.

  • Work with multiple customers, stakeholders, and system owners to produce requirements, determine feasibility, analyze cost/benefits requirements, and recommend design solution options.

  • Provide training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge.

Compensation Range for this Role: $79,000-$127,000 CAD (based on experience)

This role has a hybrid work requirement of 2 days minimum in office per week.
Additionally, this position requires the successful completion of a Government of Canada Reliability Clearance (PERC) as a condition of employment. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the required clearance throughout their employment.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Science or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Cisco CCNA or equivalent experience desired

EXPERIENCE:

This position is for someone with 5-7 years of network and security experience working a variety of network areas, to include the following disciplines: routing/switching, data center, wireless, security, VPN, collaboration, virtualization, disaster recovery/high availability, acceleration technologies, and cloud provider/services.

  • First Hop Redundancy Protocols: HSRP / VRRP / GLBP

  • VRF implementation and design

  • VSS and VPC technologies

  • IPS, IDS, SSL Decryption, and URL Filtering

  • IPv4 and IPv6 addressing

  • Scripting and Network Automation (Python, VBscript, Powershell)

  • Experience in maintaining network monitoring systems

  • Experience in taking and reading network packet captures

  • Familiarity with AWS infrastructure (VPC's, Security Groups, Direct Connect)
