Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Brandon, FL is seeking a mid-level Network Engineer to support core network operations and enterprise infrastructure initiatives within a utility environment.
Summary:
This role will be partnering with cross-functional technology teams to support strategic network projects, maintain critical infrastructure, and ensure reliable network performance across the enterprise. This is an onsite position that will begin with close collaboration alongside the internal team to support onboarding and project alignment.
Duties:
* Partner with cross-functional technology teams to identify and implement network requirements for enterprise initiatives
* Design, implement, and support network infrastructure to meet evolving business and operational needs
* Configure and manage firewall policies to ensure secure and reliable network connectivity
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex network connectivity and performance issues
* Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and data teams to support enterprise technology initiatives and ensure alignment across projects
* Support day-to-day network operations and provide technical expertise for infrastructure projects
* Maintain and support Cisco ACI Fabric environments
* Participate in network upgrades, optimization efforts, and lifecycle management activities
* Monitor network performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement
* Assist with incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation efforts
REQUIREMENTS:
* 3-7+ years of Network Engineering experience
* Hands-on experience administering enterprise firewalls (Check Point strongly preferred)
* Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts, including routing, switching, VPNs, VLANs, and network segmentation
* Familiarity with AWS cloud environments and foundational cloud networking concepts
* Experience with Palo Alto firewalls is a plus
* Knowledge of Check Point CloudGuard is beneficial
* Ability to work onsite in Brandon, FL
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred:
* Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure within a utility or highly regulated environment
* Experience supporting large-scale network modernization initiatives
* Exposure to operational technology (OT) or industrial networking environments
* Experience collaborating with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and data engineering teams
* Familiarity with hybrid cloud networking and secure enterprise connectivity
Team Structure:
* Partners closely with Infrastructure, Security, and Data & Analytics teams
* Works alongside internal technical staff during onboarding and project ramp-up
The ideal candidate will have strong firewall experience, a solid foundation in enterprise networking, and familiarity with cloud environments-particularly AWS. While deep cloud networking expertise is not required, candidates should understand how cloud environments integrate with enterprise network operations.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
