Job description

NASCAR seeks an experienced Senior Network Engineer to help shape and advance a resilient, high-performance network infrastructure that powers our enterprise and fan-facing experiences, based in our Daytona Beach, Florida OR Concord, North Carolina office. This position is onsite 5 days per week on-site with flexible work hours.


The Senior Network Engineer will be required to provide enterprise-level assistance to our customers. You will diagnose and troubleshoot network and hardware problems and help maintain a highly available, flexible, and resilient network. Network Engineer responsibilities include resolving network issues, supporting existing network solutions, and ensuring our network is documented, available, and flexible to adapt to the demands of our customers. You will actively participate in group and individual training sessions to continue learning and growing on the job and at industry events.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure consistent, reliable network operations by following and improving established processes
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize performance across data, voice, and wireless networks
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network and hardware issues; identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions
  • Triage and manage incidents, service requests, and problems from internal customers with a focus on timely resolution
  • Recommend and implement network improvements based on incident trends, performance data, and evolving business needs
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, protocols, and network infrastructure solutions
  • Maintain the stability and integrity of enterprise voice, video, data, and wireless platforms
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning and execution
  • Communicate effectively through ticketing systems and support channels, ensuring transparency and accuracy
  • Manage multiple priorities while meeting service-level commitments in a fast-paced environment
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including network diagrams, procedures, and design standards
  • Participate in an on-call rotation as scheduled by the Director of Network Engineering.

What You'll Bring

  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Network Engineering role.
  • CCNA (Required)
  • CCNP (Strongly preferred - ENCOR + concentration exam)
  • Strong proficiency in enterprise network operations and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting on-site events and engineering deployments.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Extreme, Palo Alto, and Ubiquiti technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and load balancing solutions.
  • Experience with cloud networking in AWS and Azure environments
  • Strong understanding of WAN technologies, BGP, and telecommunications providers.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and packet capture analysis
  • Knowledge of data center environments, including VXLAN, virtualization, DNS, storage, and environmental systems.
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Microsoft Teams Voice.
  • Expertise in voice routing and troubleshooting across multiple phone systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex technical challenges
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to document, communicate, and present technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Effective prioritization, organization, and execution aligned to business and strategic goals
  • Experience across the full lifecycle of network projects (design, test, deploy, validate, operate, optimize, decommission)
  • Strong collaboration mindset with the ability to share knowledge and elevate team performance

  • Capacity to perform effectively under pressure while adhering to established processes
  • Exposure to automation and scripting using Python, REST APIs, JSON, XML, and Git.
