Job Description

The Senior Network Specialist (Architecture Enforcement & Operations) is a senior technical individual contributor responsible for ensuring the stability, consistency, and operational excellence of AIM’s enterprise network infrastructure. 

This role serves as the primary L3 escalation point for network operations and acts as a technical bridge between Network Administrators, Senior Network Administrators, and the Team Lead, Network Operations (final design authority). The role ensures that all network implementations align with approved architectural standards while supporting operational delivery and project execution. 

What you're responsible for: 

  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex network incidents, leading advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of critical issues.
  • Support the stability and availability of the enterprise network by managing high-severity incidents across routing, switching, WAN/LAN, and firewall environments.
  • Ensure network solutions comply with enterprise architecture standards by reviewing technical designs and identifying deviations before deployment.
  • Collaborate with the Team Lead, Network Operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent execution of network standards and designs.
  • Translate business and project requirements into scalable network solutions by defining technical, infrastructure, connectivity, and site readiness requirements.
  • Contribute to project planning by providing technical input for Bills of Materials (BOMs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and infrastructure implementation activities.
  • Drive operational excellence by supporting automation, DevOps initiatives, and improvements to network monitoring, tooling, and operational processes.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt, standardize network infrastructure, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the continuous modernization of the enterprise network by enhancing scalability, resilience, performance, and reliability. 
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in network administration.
  • Mastery of IP network basics (LAN/WAN, Layer 2, Layer 3, VPN, SDN, DHCP, DNS...).
  • Proven expertise in troubleshooting simple and complex network problems.
  • Knowledge of network flow security.
  • Knowledge of network concepts and technologies and LAN and WAN security.
  • Scripting skills for network automation.
  • Experience in implementing and managing observability and monitoring tools for network infrastructures.
  • Experience with various network technologies.
  • Significant experience with Cisco and Fortinet solutions. Experience with large network infrastructures a plus.
  • ITIL certification, an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French.
  • Results-oriented, team player.
