The ideal candidate will provide technical engineering support for our large federal government agency's highly complex network infrastructure environment to include multiple enclaves comprising various classification levels. Network engineering support includes all engineering activities required to support the standard information technology lifecycle. The ideal candidate will provide design and engineering activities in support of new network solutions for a multi-enclave enterprise network environment which encompasses various technology. In addition, the candidate will provide network support on an as needed basis to resolve networking issues that have not been resolved by the first three support tiers.
Responsibilities:
  • Act as a senior subject matter expert in the areas of monitoring and analyzing enterprise networks and network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers encryptors, etc.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and support to the Government, Project Lead, and other Network Analyst in support of monitoring and managing the customer networks
  • Review the work of the other contractor personnel based on government standards and industry best practice and provide feedback and recommendations through the Project Lead
  • Maintain awareness of trends and best practices related to networks, technology and IT-related topics and provide recommendations to the Project Lead and Government on possible improvements or changes to customer systems and processes
  • Provide high-quality and professional customer service in all interactions
  • Use the Enterprise Network Monitoring Platform to analyze and provide data and documentation related to the network performance of any or all network components.
  • Serve as an on-call escalation point for other network engineers when they are unable to resolve a ticket
  • Provide excellent and professional customer service in all interactions

Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain SCI
  • Minimum of SIX (6) years of experience designing, developing, and implementing network solutions
  • Expert knowledge of Internet Protocol (IP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), Stateful firewalls and encryption technologies
  • Working knowledge of network management tools, such as Riverbed, Wireshark, Micro Focus Network Automation, etc.
  • Working knowledge of web applications, web servers, application load balancers and storage systems. Must have good knowledge of general security tools and methodologies such as firewalls, Intrusion Detection Sensor (IDS)/Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and access control lists.
  • Experience providing Tier 3 support and issue resolution
  • Experience providing senior-level engineering support
  • Large enterprise environment experience
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Higher Cisco Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in technology related field
  • Experience in network engineering within the federal intelligence community
  • Ability to adhere to a disciplined troubleshooting methodology, and ensure task/mission completion, along with creating and maintaining necessary information
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with attention to detail
