Job description

We are seeking an experienced Network Manager. The ideal candidate will lead the design, implementation, security, and ongoing support of the network infrastructure supporting Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) for a mission-critical, high-profile data center project.

This role will be responsible for ensuring highly secure, resilient, and scalable network connectivity between BAS devices, controllers, servers, and enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in industrial/OT networking within data center or mission-critical environments and needs to hold an active Cisco certification.

Responsibilities:

Network Architecture & Design

  • Design and oversee BAS/OT network architecture including VLAN segmentation, routing, redundancy, and failover strategies
  • Develop network topologies for integration of HVAC, power monitoring, environmental controls, and life safety systems
  • Ensure compliance with data center network and cybersecurity standards
  • Collaborate with IT teams to properly segment OT and IT environments

Implementation & Deployment

  • Oversee installation, configuration, and commissioning of Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Configure VLANs, ACLs, QoS, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP where applicable)
  • Implement secure remote access and VPN configurations
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise Cisco network standards
  • Support commissioning teams during system startup and integration

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Implement secure network segmentation between BAS/OT and corporate IT
  • Harden Cisco network devices according to industry best practices
  • Support compliance with data center security standards (SOC2, ISO, NIST, etc.)
  • Monitor vulnerabilities and coordinate patch management

Monitoring & Performance

  • Deploy and maintain network monitoring tools
  • Ensure high availability and redundancy across all BAS network layers
  • Respond to incidents and troubleshoot outages in mission-critical environments
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventative measures

Project Leadership

  • Serve as the technical Cisco network lead for the BAS portion of the data center project
  • Coordinate with:

- Controls Engineers

- IT Infrastructure teams

- Cybersecurity teams

- Data center operations staff

  • Develop detailed network documentation, diagrams, and as-builts
  • Participate in project meetings and provide status updates to stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering or network management
  • Active Cisco certification required (CCNA minimum; CCNP strongly preferred)
  • Hands-on experience configuring and managing Cisco enterprise switches and routers
  • Experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS), Industrial Controls, or OT environments
  • Strong knowledge of:

- VLANs

- Routing & switching

- TCP/IP

- Firewalls

- VPN configuration

- Network segmentation

  • Experience working in data centers or other mission-critical facilities
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments
  • Ability to obtain site security clearance (if required)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCNP Enterprise or higher certification
  • Experience integrating BAS protocols:

- BACnet/IP

- Modbus TCP

- SNMP

- Familiarity with NIST cybersecurity framework

- Experience supporting hyperscale or colocation data centers

  • Project management experience within technical environments
