Job description

1. Position Information

  • Title: ISP Network Operations Engineer
  • Location: Los Angeles, California, USA
  • Department: Network Operations
  • Reports to: Operations Manager / Technical Director
  • Type: Full-time
  • Mandarin prefered

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations and maintenance of customer ISP networks, ensuring high availability and stability.
  • Interface with customers to handle network faults, cutovers, and emergency changes to ensure uninterrupted services.
  • Configure and optimize core routers, switches, and optical transmission equipment to maintain performance and security.
  • Participate in the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of routing protocols, especially BGP, OSPF, and routing policies.
  • Support network expansion, migration, and upgrade cutovers; prepare change plans and post-implementation reports.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support, collaborating with vendors and customer teams to resolve critical network issues.

3. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or related fields.
  • Cisco CCNA / CCNP certification (or equivalent technical proficiency).
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, etc.) and routing policy optimization.
  • Familiarity with optical transmission products (DWDM/OTN/transport networks) and related maintenance.
  • Hands-on cutover (network migration) experience, able to independently manage complex changes and emergencies.
  • Proficient in English with strong communication and technical documentation skills.
  • High sense of responsibility; ability to adapt to 24/7 operations support and incident response.

4. Preferred Qualifications

  • Cisco CCNP or equivalent advanced certification.
  • Experience in large-scale service provider / ISP network operations.
  • Knowledge of MPLS, VXLAN, and SDN technologies.
  • Experience with cross-regional network architectures and international link optimization.

5. Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000 per year (commensurate with experience).
