We are looking for an experienced VoIP / Network Support & Field Operations Technician who understands business networking, VoIP, and field installations and can manage and direct technicians onsite for customer installs and service dispatches.

This position requires someone who can troubleshoot remotely, communicate clearly with field technicians, and take ownership of an installation or service call from beginning to end.

  • QoS / voice prioritization
  • Wi-Fi troubleshooting
  • Cabling and physical network troubleshooting

Field Technician Management

A major part of this position is running technicians onsite during installations and service dispatches.

You must be able to:

  • Manage technicians remotely while they are onsite
  • Provide clear step-by-step technical instructions
  • Verify cabling, router, network and phone installations
  • Walk technicians through router and network configurations

  • Take ownership of the job from dispatch through completion

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot business internet, LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Diagnose cabling and physical network issues
  • Determine whether an issue originates with the phone, network, router/firewall, ISP, VoIP platform or carrier

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate has previously worked as a VoIP Technician, Network Technician, Telecom Technician, Field Technician, Field Operations Technician, NOC Technician, or Technical Support Technician.

Experience with a VoIP provider, telecom company, ISP, MSP, cable/internet provider, low-voltage company, or IT services company is highly desirable.

We need someone who can understand the network, diagnose the problem, direct the technician onsite, and get the job completed.

This is not an entry-level position. Real-world troubleshooting ability and the ability to manage field technicians are more important than certifications.
