Job description

Overview

MasTec is a leading North American infrastructure engineering and construction company focused primarily on engineering, building, installation, maintenance and upgrade of communications, energy and utility and other infrastructure, such as: wireless, wireline/fiber; power delivery infrastructure, including transmission, distribution, grid hardening and modernization, environmental planning and compliance; power generation infrastructure, primarily from clean energy and renewable sources; pipeline infrastructure, including for natural gas, water and carbon capture sequestration pipelines and pipeline integrity services; heavy civil and industrial infrastructure, including roads, bridges and rail; and environmental remediation services. Responsible for the coordination and implementation of construction project and branch office network infrastructure and project specific technical equipment and systems required, including monitoring and supporting of networks.  


Responsibilities
·    Work with construction project managers and segment stakeholders to provide quotes and implementation plans for onsite network connectivity and project specific technical equipment and systems as required.·    Coordinate with MasTec network resources to provision equipment for construction jobsites and branch offices.·    Monitor and escalate to engineering for support of all networks.·    Assist in any acquisition network migrations.·    Always adhering to MasTec IT, Network, and Security Policies.·    Act as the primary point of contact between MasTec IT, segment site leadership, and the Internet Service Provider.·     Identify and implement network infrastructure aligning with the unique requirements of each client contract.·    Implement jobsite network equipment (Requiring frequent travel, 50-80 percent).·    Low voltage knowledge, ability to run and terminate.·    Decommission network equipment at the construction project or office completion.·    Report and effectively communicate the status of the projects to internal and external resources.·    Communicate and assist with prioritization of project activities and dependencies.·    Participates in Change Control activities.·    Demonstrate respect through courteous and professional interaction with staff and customers and show integrity when approaching all situations.·    Be accountable for the overall success of each project.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5-7 years of IT experience with 3-5 related to network projects.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Zero Injury principles.
  • Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Project Management knowledge preferred.
