Position Description: In this role, you will manage and optimize on-premises and cloud network environments, working closely with the Network Team to maintain and enhance the network infrastructure across physical data centers and cloud platforms. Reporting to the Manager of Networking, you will implement network solutions and support network-related technology, including routers, switches, firewalls, NAC, VPN, load balancers, monitoring tools, and core services like DNS and DHCP. Your work will ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing connectivity that supports business applications and end users across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Operations & Maintenance:
  • Perform ongoing network maintenance, diagnostics, and design for 500+ nodes across multiple locations.
  • Administer switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access controllers, load balancers, and DNS/DHCP.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network-related issues.
  • Work with ISPs to ensure reliable Internet connectivity and performance.

Cloud Network Engineering:
  • Manage and optimize cloud network architectures (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) to support business applications and services.
  • Configure and maintain Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), VPNs, Direct Connect, Transit Gateways, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
  • Leverage cloud-native monitoring solutions to ensure visibility and performance across cloud environments.
Security & Access Control:
  • Implement network security best practices, including firewalls, NAC (Network Access Controls), and segmentation strategies across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Support secure remote access and VPN tunnel management for staff and partners.
Collaboration & Support:
  • Work with support staff to provide prompt resolution of staff network problems and requests.
  • Collaborate with Windows, Linux, Storage, Database, and Cloud teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Provide services outside of core working hours as required.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay current on networking trends, emerging cloud technologies, and security best practices.
  • Pursue professional development through certifications, training, and hands-on learning.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering.
  • Strong experience with Cisco switching, routing (OSPF, BGP), firewalls (access-lists, VPN tunnels, remote access), and wireless access.
  • Hands-on AWS Cloud experience, including VPC, EC2, ALB/NLB, Transit Gateway, Routing, Security Groups/NACLs, Network Firewall, VPN, Direct Connect, CloudFormation, and IAM roles.
  • F5 Load Balancing, Cisco ISE, WAF, and DNS/DHCP experience are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools (e.g., Site24x7, SevOne, or equivalent) and cloud-native monitoring solutions.
  • Ability to deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco access-layer switches.
  • Ability to troubleshoot wired, wireless, VPN, cloud (AWS/GCP), and Internet connectivity.
  • Solid understanding of L1–L4 network layers and logical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, research, and interpersonal skills.
