Job description

Description:

Softek Inc. is seeking an experienced Network Infrastructure Architect to provide strategic architectural leadership for the DHS Enterprise Engineering Division (EED), supporting comprehensive HSEN capabilities and services. This role requires deep expertise in LAN/WAN, enterprise wireless networking, network security engineering, collaboration tools, cloud hosting, and advanced communication services. The Architect will drive the consolidation and standardization of DHSโ€™s diverse communication networks, significantly enhancing collaboration, operational efficiency, and the overall homeland security response capabilities.


Clearance Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active Secret DoD Security Clearance
  • Ability to attain and maintain DHS Entry on Duty (EOD)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead architectural design for the integration, scalability, interoperability, and flexibility of DHS HSEN and LAN-A networks.
  • Oversee advanced system operations, configuration management, and provide high-level support for Tier III/Tier IV issues.
  • Collaborate closely with the Network Operations & Security Center (NOSC) and DHS Headquarters Operation Division (HOD) to facilitate enhancements and successful transition of new technologies into production.
  • Guide strategic initiatives to evaluate emerging technologies, implement cloud solutions, and enhance collaboration platforms to streamline DHS network operations.
  • Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive system and network architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Conduct infrastructure and network assessments, including capacity planning, performance analysis, traffic modeling, and optimization recommendations.
  • Drive network security engineering initiatives and support the certification and accreditation activities in alignment with DHS security standards and policies.
  • Actively participate in change management processes, delivering detailed assessments, risk analyses, and recommendations for network improvements and optimizations.



Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masterโ€™s Degree in a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience providing network architecture support for large-scale programs involving over 5,500 field sites, at least two data centers or colocation facilities, and serving 250,000+ users.
  • Active Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of direct experience supporting DHS Wide Area Networks.
  • Extensive expertise in DHS enterprise-level network architecture and modernization projects.
  • Proven experience leading and executing architecture strategies for complex, enterprise-wide DHS network infrastructures.
