Description:

Network Engineer

Job Summary
OMB Bank is looking for a skilled, hands-on Network Engineer to personally implement and maintain our enterprise network infrastructure. This is an individual contributor role — the Network Engineer is expected to directly perform configuration, troubleshooting, and implementation work across all systems rather than delegate it to others.

The Network Engineer will serve as a key technical resource within the Network Team, implementing and maintaining internal networking systems, cloud platforms, communication systems, and physical security systems at the direction of management. Working collaboratively with team members and directly on equipment and platforms daily, this role helps ensure the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of OMB Bank's critical infrastructure in alignment with banking regulations and security standards.

· Build and maintain OMB Bank’s LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and wireless infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and network access controls.

· Monitor network performance and availability, troubleshoot issues, conduct capacity planning, and maintain network documentation and configuration standards.

· On-premises AD & Identity Management: Design and administer Active Directory infrastructure (domain controllers, GPOs, user accounts, OUs, and RBAC) while integrating with Azure AD via AD Connect for hybrid identity and SSO.

· Monitor AD health, audit logs, and authentication events to detect and remediate anomalies, and manage associated DNS, DHCP, PAM, and banking compliance requirements.

· Azure & M365 Administration: Administer Microsoft Azure (virtual networks, VMs, Azure AD) and the full Microsoft 365 tenant including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint.

· Administer the bank’s VoIP/PBX system including call routing, voicemail, auto-attendants, and SIP trunks, coordinating with telecom vendors for upgrades and issue resolution.

· Manage secure remote access solutions (SSL VPN, site-to-site VPN, Zero Trust, and MFA) ensuring compliance with banking regulatory and security requirements.

· Manage network security infrastructure (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection), conduct vulnerability assessments, respond to incidents, and ensure compliance with FFIEC, GLBA, and PCI-DSS.

· Oversee administration and maintenance of IP-based camera and access control systems across all branch locations, ensuring proper data retention, access controls, and policy compliance.

· Implement and test disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans (BCP) for network and IT systems

Primary Work Location and Schedule:

· 3050 S Delaware Ave, Springfield MO 65804

· 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday – Friday; occasional additional hours as needed.

· Full-time – 40 hours per week average

· Travel may be required throughout OMB footprint

Position Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering or related field required

· Equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience may be considered

· Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in network engineering or a related IT infrastructure role

· Prior experience in a financial institution, banking, or highly regulated industry strongly preferred

· Demonstrated experience with enterprise network design, cloud platforms, and security systems

· CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent Cisco/network certification (preferred)

· Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or higher (preferred)

· CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent security certification (preferred)

· ITIL Foundation or equivalent (preferred)

· Familiarity with IP camera/access control systems and physical security integration

· Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS) and banking regulations (FFIEC, GLBA)

· Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, or similar) a plus

· Effective time management skills (capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks)

· Demonstrated self-motivation; productive, efficient, organized, accurate work output with no supervision while working independently and within a team environment

· Ability to apply strategic planning, activity coordination, and problem-solving techniques to complex issues of multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations

Benefits:

· Excellent work environment where you are appreciated and recognized for your individual efforts and contributions.

· Stability with a locally owned community bank that is growing and expanding in the region.

· Paid Leave: Paid Time Off, Military, Bereavement, and Jury Duty

· Full and partially paid insurance plans: life w/ AD&D, disability, medical, and dental

· Cost friendly insurance: vision, critical illness, accident, supplemental life w/ AD&D

· 100% match of retirement savings (up to plan limit)

· Discounted financial service fees on select OMB products and services.

· Plus more
