Job description

Job Overview:
  • The VPN Network Engineer is responsible for configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining secure network infrastructure in a multi-data center environment. 
  • The role involves managing VPN connectivity, optimizing network performance, ensuring compliance with security standards, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver reliable network services.

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Configuration and troubleshooting of IPSEC site-to-site VPNs.
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot complex routing issues.
  • Strong understanding of networking in a multi-data center environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance and seek assistance only on the most complex tasks.
  • Strong communication skills with leadership, peers, project managers, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Flexible work schedule with the ability to perform after-hours changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure and troubleshoot IPSEC site-to-site VPNs.
  • Author technical documentation, including network diagrams.
  • Monitor network performance and implement performance tuning when necessary.
  • Diagnose connectivity problems and resolve network issues.
  • Work closely with clients and vendors on the implementation of products and services.
  • Ensure security and operational standards are maintained in accordance with compliance requirements, HIPAA standards, and industry best practices.
  • Work independently with minimal guidance and seek assistance only on the most complex tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership, peers, project managers, clients, and stakeholders.

Should Have:

  • CCNP certification or higher, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches.
  • Experience managing Arista switches.
  • Strong documentation skills and experience with tools such as Visio.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
