Configures, installs and maintains hardware and software supporting the information technology and telecommunications networks. Investigates, diagnoses and resolves network access problems. Maintains, tests and monitors firewall and intrusion detection systems. Adds, changes or removes network hardware, software and end-user identities within the network registration system. Configures, tests, installs and maintains network switches, routers and software. Documents configuration, installation and maintenance activities. Monitors network performance, adjusts configuration to maintain proper operation, and identifies trends in network performance issues. Documents network security breaches and applies policies and procedures to resolve violations.
