That's why we need a network engineer like you who knows how to develop the exact network the DoD needs. As a Network Engineer, you will help develop, modernize, and sustain secure and resilient network capabilities that support critical defense operations. You'll use your skills in network design, architecture, Layer 2 / 3 technologies, and system interoper ability to improve reliability, availability, and performance across mission-focused environments. You will also contribute to engineering efforts, including implementation planning, technical reviews, test activities, and upgrades supporting enterprise-wide modernization. You'll apply your knowledge in routing and switching, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and for war ding as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the DoD evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies. You Have: * 2+ years of experience with network configuration, troubleshooting, or engineering support
* Experience supporting engineering implementation planning, sustainment engineering, or technical reviews
* Experience with routing and switching technologies and Layer 2 / 3 network protocols
* Knowledge of network design and architecture, OSI model concepts, transport layers, and system interoperability
* Knowledge of network security technologies and firewall implementations
* Ability to perform Tier III troubleshooting of complex issues
* Ability to interpret network diagrams, engineering documentation, and lab test outputs
* Secret clearance * HS diploma or GED Nice If You Have: * Experience c ond ucting network health assessments or supporting modernization efforts
* Experience performing lab automation or developing repeatable test workflows
* Knowledge of gateway protocols, virtual routing and for war ding, or optical networking
* Knowledge of mission-aligned enterprise networking standards and emerging technologies
* Ability to identify improvements for network resiliency, capacity, or security
* Ability to mentor junior engineers or support higher-level planning efforts
* Possession of strong communication skills, for technical discussions and engineering reviews
* Top Secret clearance * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Cyber, or a related field
* CCNA, CCNP, Security+, or similar Certification s Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information ; Secret clearance is required. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
