Description
As an AI/ML Co-op, you will support engineering efforts for AI and machine learning initiatives spanning multiple business units. You’ll lead small projects under the supervision of the enterprise AI/ML engineering team, collaborating with stakeholders from various departments.
 
Term: Summer/Fall (June ‘26 - Dec’ 26)
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Gathering and analyzing engineering and business data to identify opportunities for AI/ML solutions.
  • Developing code for core use case functionality with guidance and gradually work independently
  • Designing and implementing new procedures and workflows for AI/ML projects.
  • Identifying bottlenecks and working with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy solutions.
  • Assisting with documentation, reporting, and other project deliverables.
This opportunity will allow you to sharpen your AI/ML, technical, and problem-solving skills in a dynamic business environment.
Required Experience and Skills
  • Current Junior/Senior undergraduate studying Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Must be able to temporarily relocate to work on-site, full-time hours from Jan to  June 2026
  • Experience using programming languages (Python), and AI/ML frameworks like Pytorch, and an understanding of AI algorithms.
  • Proficiency using VScode or other programming IDEs, ramp up learning curve on using code assists to complete tasks.  Be able to quickly learn company-specific software (Agentic AI, LangChain, LangGraph, Genie, Databricks).
Desired Experience and Skills
  • Programming in Python for over 2 + years, understanding of AI/ML algorithms, be able to solve problems quickly
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic, eager to tackle challenges and take ownership.
  • Willingness to work in a hands-on, collaborative environment.
  • Strong time management, communication, organization, and documentation skills.
 
Please note: If you have already graduated and are not currently enrolled in school, you are not eligible for this Co-op position.

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
