As a Software Engineer Intern at McKesson High Volume Solutions Inc., you will contribute to the development and enhancement of our innovative software solutions that power critical healthcare systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, working alongside experienced engineers to solve real-world problems.
Intern Program Details:
• Paid Internship
• Full time / 10 weeks
• Position will be based in Colorado
• The internship program provides networking, access to executives, structured performance & coaching
• Experiential learning and training provided by exposure to subject matter experts
Job Responsibilities:
* Assist in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications and features.
* Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in accordance with established coding standards.
* Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
* Collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
* Contribute to the troubleshooting, debugging, and resolution of software defects.
* Learn and apply new technologies, tools, and methodologies relevant to software development.
* Document technical specifications, design documents, and user guides as needed.
* Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions.
Job Qualifications:
* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
* Hands-on experience in at least one object-oriented programming language Python, C#.
* Understanding of fundamental software development principles, data structures, and algorithms.
* Exposure to SQL (SQL server, mySQL, postgres etc)
* Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
* Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Prior internship experience or personal projects demonstrating software development skills is a plus.
