Network Engineer II
LaSalle Network is partnering with a dynamic organization to find a talented Network Engineer II for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role offers the chance to work remotely in a fast-paced, growth-driven environment, owning critical LAN infrastructure and leading key projects. As a Network Engineer II, you will contribute to the operational excellence of a 24/7 SaaS environment, leveraging your expertise in network security, routing, automation, and cloud networking. This is an exciting chance to make a significant impact while advancing your career in a collaborative and innovative setting.
Responsibilities
  • Own LAN infrastructure and operational excellence in a 24/7 SaaS environment, including troubleshooting and incident handling.
  • Lead projects focused on automation, network upgrades, and operational improvements.
  • Manage and configure security policies using Palo Alto, Panorama, and GlobalProtect VPN.
  • Support and maintain Cisco Nexus switches (9k/7k/5k/2k, NX-OS, NDFC, VXLAN/EVPN).
  • Utilize automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Python to streamline network operations.
  • Monitor network performance using SolarWinds, Prometheus, Grafana, NetFlow, and SNMP.
  • Handle routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, STP/RSTP.
  • Collaborate on cloud networking tasks within AWS and GCP environments.
  • Nice-to-Have: Support VoIP/SIP peering, trunking, and SBC (Session Border Controller).

Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of experience managing medium-to-large production networks.
  • Strong knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls (security policy design, Panorama, GlobalProtect).
  • Hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP (LTM, GTM, iRules, SSL offloading).
  • Extensive experience with Cisco Nexus switches and network automation.
  • Familiarity with SDN, VXLAN/EVPN, and cloud networking in AWS and GCP.
  • Knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Nice-to-Have: VoIP/SIP peering and session border controller expertise.
