Job description

Delaware Nation Industries is supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division Dam Neck Activity (NSWCDD DNA). We will be providing enterprise management and technical support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division Dam Neck Activity (NSWC DD DNA) by providing assistance in policy, procedures, seat refresh, engineering/technical solutions, ordering to Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN) and the Naval Networking Environment (NNE) strategy.

Job Summary:   The Network Administrator/Engineer will provide Tier I - III daily support of the NGEN enclave supporting the RDT&E core infrastructure.  They will assist in the development and deployment of DOD standards to ensure network compliance and security.  Strong communication and documentation required to ensure plan of action and milestones for deployment and administration of all facets of the network infrastructure.  The daily support of the enclave could be from cabling runs, switch code upgrades, STIGing, firewall investigation and remediation to router troubleshooting.  This role is multifaceted and part of a strong team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains records and reports concerning network operations and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoots network performance issues.
  • Must be able to provide cradle-to-grave STIG support for all network and security devices within the network per view.
  • Analyzes network traffic and provides capacity-planning solutions.
  • Monitors and responds to complex networking hardware and software problems.
  • Interfaces with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
  • Responsible for design, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN/WAN/WLAN systems.
  • Performs a variety of network engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment.
  • Provides assistance and oversight for information systems operations activities, including computer and telecommunications/communications operations, data control, LAN/WAN/WLAN administration and operations support, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, and/or web strategy and operations.
  • Engaged in the operation and support of network facilities, including all communications equipment on various platforms.
  • Involved in complex operations that involve two or more additional functions such as, but not limited to, network operations, systems security, systems software support, and production support activities.
  • Provides the routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities (including power, software, communications machinery, lines).
  • Utilizes software and hardware tools, identify and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting network performance.
  • Patches and maintains network continuously to meet security compliance standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ Years of Network Administrator experience in a DoD environment
  • Bachelor Degree or Equivalent Work Experience in related IT field
  • Requires DoD 8570 (or DoD 8140) IAT Level II certification. This position requires compliance with DOD 8570 IAT continuing education certification for technical administrative access to government systems.
  • Shift adjustments or after-hours support may be required to support operational service outages or to meet contractual requirements. Standard M- F work week
