Job description

Job Title: Recruiting Canvasser - Dental Talent Network (South Carolina)
Location: Based onsite at Palms Dentistry - Greenville, SC and Simpsonville, SC (with regular travel throughout the Upstate SC market)
Reports To: [Recruiting Manager / HR Director]
Status: Temporary/Seasonal, Part-Time (8-12 weeks) - 24 hours/week, flexible days
Job Summary:
Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry is seeking a Recruiting Canvasser for a temporary, part-time engagement to build our talent pipeline across South Carolina. This role will be based onsite at our Palms Dentistry locations in Greenville and Simpsonville, working alongside the existing team to understand the day-to-day culture and needs of the practice. Being embedded in the office allows this person to build genuine relationships with current staff, tap into their professional networks, and represent the practice authentically when out in the community. Outside of time in the office, this role is about being present - attending community events, building relationships with dental programs and local offices, and creating a steady flow of qualified Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants, and Patient Coordinators who know our name before we ever have an opening. This is a great fit for someone who thrives on face-to-face connection and wants a flexible, short-term project with real impact.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Onsite Team Integration
  • Work onsite at the Palms Dentistry Greenville and Simpsonville locations to build rapport with the existing clinical and front office team
  • Learn the day-to-day culture, workflows, and needs of the practice to accurately represent it to prospective candidates
  • Build relationships with current team members and, where appropriate, tap into their professional networks for referrals and introductions

Community & Network Building
  • Build and maintain relationships with local dental hygiene programs, dental assisting schools, and community colleges in the Greenville/Upstate SC area
  • Attend RDH/DA continuing education (CE) courses, seminars, and professional development events to network with practicing hygienists and assistants
  • Visit other local dental offices in person to introduce Riccobene/Brush and Floss, drop off information, and open the door for future conversations with staff who may be exploring a change
  • Represent the practice at job fairs, career days, healthcare networking events, and community functions
  • Establish ongoing contact with instructors, program coordinators, and career services staff to become a trusted point of contact for graduating students

Candidate Sourcing & Pipeline Development
  • Proactively identify and engage passive candidates (not just active job seekers) for DH, DA, and PC roles
  • Maintain a running pipeline/database of prospective candidates for current and future openings
  • Conduct initial outreach and screening conversations to gauge interest and fit

Events & Partnerships
  • Plan and execute grassroots recruiting events (open houses, "meet the team" sessions, coffee chats)
  • Partner with local dental associations and professional groups to increase brand visibility
  • Represent the Riccobene/Brush and Floss brand professionally in all community settings, including when visiting other practices

Coordination & Reporting
  • Work closely with the internal recruiting/HR team to hand off qualified candidates
  • Track outreach activity, events attended, and pipeline metrics
  • Provide regular updates on market trends, competitor activity, and candidate availability in the SC region

Qualifications
  • 1+ years in recruiting, sales, community outreach, or relationship-based work (dental/healthcare experience a plus, not required)
  • Comfortable initiating conversations and building rapport with strangers, including walking into offices cold
  • Comfortable working onsite alongside a clinical team and integrating into an existing office culture
  • Self-directed - this role works with a lot of autonomy in the field
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally within SC, including between the Greenville and Simpsonville locations
  • Strong organizational skills to track a growing candidate pipeline
  • Available for the full 8-12 week engagement

Skills & Competencies
  • Outgoing, personable, natural relationship-builder
  • Strong verbal communication and active listening
  • Basic proficiency with an ATS or CRM tool (or willingness to learn)
  • Self-motivated with strong follow-through

Benefits
Competitive Pay: $20-$25/hour, with flexibility based on experience
Flexible Schedule: Choose your days - 24 hours/week worked around your availability
Variety & Autonomy: No two days look the same - split time between the Palms Dentistry team, local dental offices, schools, and community events
Built-In Networking: Get face time with dental professionals, program instructors, and industry contacts across the Upstate SC market - great for anyone building a career in healthcare recruiting, sales, or dental industry relationships
Resume-Building Experience: Hands-on exposure to talent acquisition, community outreach, and relationship-based recruiting
Short-Term Commitment: A defined 8-12 week engagement - ideal for someone between roles, supplementing income, or testing out recruiting/HR as a career path
Be Part of Something Growing: Play a direct role in helping Palms Dentistry build its team during a key growth period
