About the Position
As a Network Engineer Senior you will be a key member of the network infrastructure team providing senior-level network engineering services in the planning, designing, implementation and maintenance of the enterprise network. This includes Campus, Datacenter, Remote Sites, Cloud, and third-party network connectivity. Some but not all network services include Routing, Switching, VPN, Load Balancing, Wireless networking, Optical networking, Firewalls, and Virtual Networking.
NOTE: This position follows a hybrid work model, combining remote work with on-site visits to locations such as downtown Phoenix and County data centers. Travel to various job-related sites may be required during the workday and must comply with County policies regarding the use of County or personal vehicles for official business.

We Require
  • Five years of experience in network operations and engineering, which includes:
    • Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing networking solutions
    • Experience in Enterprise LAN/WAN and Wireless topologies
    • Knowledge of OSPF, BGP, MPLS, NSX-T, ACI, Multicast, Telco Services, VPN, and network automation
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field
  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.

Other Requirements
  • Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona Driver's license by the time of hire

Job Contributions
  • Design, configure, test, and maintain LAN/WAN equipment and related services for Web support.
  • Lead in the diagnosis, and resolve complex network problems.
  • Proactively identify and implement automation and scripting that improve operational efficiencies and reduce the need for manual checklist completions.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
  • Act as a collaborative service provider to our internal and external customers.
  • Partner with software engineering, product, and architecture to shape engineering approaches; share knowledge and experience.
  • Define & review end state architectural design documents.
  • Review existing policies and procedures to identify potential gaps, problems or opportunities for improvement and develop recommendations.
  • Mentor engineers with technical knowledge. Act as SME in the definition and policy making of network and security protocols.
  • Other Job Duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
  • Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time
  • Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
