Network Automation Engineer supports the development and maintenance of network automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, visibility, and incident response.


This role is for developing and applying skills in Python-based automation, network fundamentals, and operational support automation within a structured engineering environment. The position works under the guidance of senior automation engineers and focuses on delivering well-defined automation tasks and enhancements, rather than leading platform architecture or automation strategy.

responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and enhance Python-based automation scripts to support network operations and monitoring use cases.
  • Assist in building and maintaining automation workflows used for event enrichment, diagnostics, and basic remediation.
  • Support integration of automation with existing monitoring, telemetry, and alerting platforms.
  • Participate in identifying repeatable operational tasks that can be automated under senior engineer guidance.
  • Help implement validation checks, logging, and basic guardrails in automation workflows.
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of automation components in non-production and production environments.
  • Maintain documentation such as runbooks, automation usage guides, and operational notes.
  • Provide first-level support for automation tools and escalate complex issues to senior team members.
  • Follow established development, version control, and deployment standards.

Requirements


Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.


Experience Range: 4-6 years of experience in network operations, automation, scripting, or infrastructure support roles


Foundational Skills


- Working knowledge of Python, including writing and maintaining scripts.


- Basic understanding of REST APIs and JSON-based data exchange.


- Exposure to backend frameworks (such as Django or Flask) is a plus.


- Fundamental understanding of enterprise networking concepts:


Routing, switching, wireless, and basic SD-WAN concepts.


- Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, or telemetry tools.
