Job description

Job Summary (List Format): Senior Network Automation Engineer
- Role: Senior Network Automation Engineer (Wired Network Engineer focus)
- Location: Chandler, AZ (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
- Type: 12+ month contract
- Experience Required: 7+ years in senior network engineering/architecture roles
Key Responsibilities:
- Automate network tasks and workflows using Python, Linux, Ansible, and shell scripting
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (Terraform, Infrastructure as Code)
- Design, test, and implement network automation strategies for configuration, monitoring, and management
- Lead and participate in code reviews, providing technical feedback
- Collaborate with DevOps, network engineers, and software developers to streamline operations
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members
- Lead architectural discussions and decision-making for network and automation solutions
- Support on-call rotations for application users, as needed
- Create and maintain technical documentation for systems, processes, and code
- Ensure network security and participate in security architecture planning
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in Python programming and Linux administration (Ubuntu, CentOS)
- Deep knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, BGP, VLANs, VRFs
- Hands-on experience with network automation tools (Ansible, Terraform)
- Familiarity with SDN technologies (Arista CVP, Cisco ACI/SDN)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively in team environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced certifications (CCIE, JNCIE)
- Experience with Arista ACE Level 5+ or Cisco DevNet S/P/E
- Knowledge of database systems (SQL, Nautobot)
- Experience with network security and security architecture
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
Other:
- Local Chandler, AZ candidates strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 days onsite per week required
- Strong interpersonal skills and proactive attitude necessary for cross-functional teamwork
