Vaco is partnering with a large scale infrastructure company in Phoenix that is continuing to invest in network automation, orchestration, and operational efficiency initiatives. This team is focused on reducing repetitive manual work across network operations through scalable automation workflows and modern infrastructure tooling. We are looking for a Network Automation Engineer with a strong blend of network engineering fundamentals and Python-based automation experience.

This person will work cross-functionally with infrastructure and operations teams to design, develop, test, and support automation workflows that improve reliability, consistency, and scalability across the environment. What You’ll Be Doing Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automation workflows for network operations Integrate internally developed scripts and third-party libraries into orchestration and automation platforms Support network orchestration initiatives using tools such as Cisco NSO, Ansible, and related frameworks Partner with infrastructure and operational stakeholders to gather requirements and identify automation opportunities Develop workflow logic including error handling, validation, and data flow considerations Test and troubleshoot automation workflows in controlled environments using modern testing methodologies Create and maintain clear technical documentation for workflows, dependencies, troubleshooting, and operational support Help standardize automation practices, documentation templates, and deployment processes across the organization Evaluate operational pain points and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention Required Skills & Experience Strong Python scripting experience Background in network engineering, infrastructure operations, or network automation Experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible and Cisco NSO Understanding of routing, switching, and common networking protocols Experience with Git/source control and CI/CD-style workflows Familiarity with YAML, XML, and infrastructure configuration management concepts Experience testing and validating automation workflows using tools such as Pytest Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and operational stakeholders Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills Preferred Experience Experience supporting large-scale enterprise network environments Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies Familiarity with Agile delivery environments Experience integrating APIs and third-party automation tooling Exposure to network operations centers (NOC) or operational support environments Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
