Referral Network Assoc

Join a team that's been providing compassionate, patient-centered care to rural North Carolina communities for 50 years. Ensure patient consent to release medical records is available and up to date prior to exchanging health information.

Ensure all demographic information, required to complete each referral, is available prior to beginning the referral process.

Contacts insurance companies to ensure prior approval requirements are met.

Processes all referral-required prior authorizations (list of common referrals requiring a PA).

Attempts to contact the patient to determine patient preferences and availability.

Schedules referral appointments (Accommodating individual patient preferences and availability).

Ensures timely delivery of appropriate clinical and demographic information to specialists.

Maintains continuous tracking and documentation of referrals promoting team awareness and patient safety.

Reviews details and expectations regarding referral with patient and/or family/caregiver.

Reminds patient/family/caregiver of scheduled appointments.

Provide excellent customer service skills.

Assist with filling mamo schedules and preparing proper documentation for REX/Novant.

Works to close the loop by faxing and calling to get notes from specialist returned on a daily basis.

Maintains Specialty Referral Resource database and ensure up to date in Excel in order for IT to submit ticket to HCN for updates.

Other duties as assigned.

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in working with public programs.
  • Bilingual

Preferred:

  • Associates degree in Secretarial Science or Human Services field.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
