Job Description:

Project Needs:

  1. We are seeking an experienced Network Architect to help us evolve to a next-generation enterprise network from our current state. 
  2. We are in the process of modernizing our network and Data Center (DC) infrastructure, including DC consolidation and security hardening
  3. As part of our infrastructure modernization initiative, we need a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to document the current state and partner with key vendors on the future state design of the network. 
  4. This resource will create/review appropriate network architecture diagrams.
  5. We have captured our network architect requirements (listed below) based on the project needs. 
  6. The bullets below are requirements we are seeking from this resource. 

Network architect resource requirements:

  • Extensive experience (7-10+ years) in network architecture and engineering, with a strong background in designing and managing complex environments, including WANs that span multiple locations.
  • Experience designing and implementing comprehensive network architectures that meet business needs and future requirements.
  • Ability to develop network architectural solutions, research new technologies, and create standards and multi-phase roadmaps. 
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, technologies, and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, etc.).
  • Expertise with network security principles, technologies, and best practices, including demonstrated knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and data protection.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • A Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) with deep expertise in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP. 
  • Industry-recognized certifications, such as CCDE or ACDX, and PCNSE are preferred. 
  • Some Cloud network experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Cisco voice technologies like CUCM (Cisco Unified Communications Manager) would be ideal but not mandatory.
