Title: Sr. Network Engineer
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid in Pasadena, TX - 77505)
Duration: Permanent, Direct-Hire
Salary Range: $110k-$123k annually
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US.
Key Points:
  • Strong SD-WAN or SASE experience is required - preferably with Cato or Zscaler.
  • Strong skills in cloud networking (Azure) is a requirement.
  • This position is onsite 3 days a week in Pasadena, however, office location will move to downtown towards the end of the year.

Summary:
The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and continuous improvement of our client's enterprise network infrastructure across corporate, field, and cloud environments. This role leads network modernization efforts, ensures reliable and secure connectivity, and partners with IT teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to support the organization's growing technology needs. Performs work requiring considerable independence, initiative, technical expertise, and sound judgment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain enterprise network standards to ensure a secure, stable, and scalable infrastructure.
  • Design, configure, and support enterprise routing, switching, VLANs, QoS, cloud-managed networking, and SD-WAN/SASE environments across multiple locations.
  • Administer Microsoft Azure networking, including virtual networks, network security, VPN connectivity, and hybrid identity integration with Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual network infrastructure, including satellite connectivity for remote field locations.
  • Monitor network performance, respond to incidents, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement long-term solutions to improve reliability and performance.
  • Partner with IT Security to implement and maintain firewalls, access controls, vulnerability management, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, hardware and software inventories, licensing records, backups, and patch management.
  • Configure and troubleshoot IP-based devices, including printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and service providers to support network operations and business initiatives.
  • Develop technical documentation, knowledge base articles, provide end-user training, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation supporting business-critical operations.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
  • Minimum of 7 years of Network Administration experience in a multi-site enterprise environment; 10+ years preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise networking, including routing, switching, VLANs, WAN/SD-WAN, cloud networking, and network security technologies.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Meraki, Cato Networks, and Starlink preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Azure Network Engineer (AZ-700), or equivalent networking certifications preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to field locations throughout the United States.
