Job description

Occupational Summary: As a Systems Administrator, you will support and maintain Booth & Associates' Microsoft 365, server, virtualization, networking, and endpoint computing environments across multiple offices. You will serve as a primary IT resource for an assigned office while collaborating with the corporate IT team on infrastructure, systems administration, automation, and end-user support. This position is intended for an experienced IT professional who can independently troubleshoot complex technical issues, administer production systems, and take ownership of infrastructure-related problems through resolution.
Requirements
• Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Entra ID, and Intune.
• Administer and support Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and related infrastructure.
• Support and maintain virtualization platforms, including VMware and Proxmox.
• Monitor system health, performance, backups, patching, endpoint protection, and security compliance; escalate risks and critical issues as appropriate.
• Create, maintain, test, and document PowerShell scripts used for automation, endpoint management, software deployment, reporting, and systems administration.
• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support, independently diagnosing and resolving complex issues involving Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking, servers, virtualization, endpoints, and line of-business applications.
• Provision and deploy workstations, user accounts, applications, mobile devices, and other IT resources for new and existing employees.
• Manage IT inventory and coordinate the repair, replacement, and lifecycle of laptops, desktops, accessories, phones, printers, and related equipment.
• Serve as the primary onsite IT contact for the assigned office and provide hands-on support for switching, routing, Wi-Fi access points, conferencing equipment, and other core technologies.
• Assist with server upgrades, system migrations, disaster recovery planning, office technology projects, and infrastructure improvements.
• Support and contribute to a company-wide safety culture by following established safety standards, policies, and best practices, helping to ensure a safe environment for employees, clients, and the public.
• Support engineering and business applications and coordinate with vendors or service providers when additional assistance is required.
• Create and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and employee training materials.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, and efficiency through automation, standardization, and process improvement.
• Travel occasionally to company offices to provide onsite technical support, equipment deployment, and project assistance as needed.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly and professionally to technical and non-technical employees, vendors, and leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, Networking, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• Three or more years of experience in technical support, systems administration, infrastructure support, or a related IT role.
• Experience supporting Windows 10/11, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and business networking fundamentals.
• Experience administering or supporting a production virtualization environment, such as VMware or Proxmox.
• Mid-level PowerShell experience, including the ability to read, modify, troubleshoot, and create scripts for common administrative tasks.
• Experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, networks, user accounts, and business applications.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, establish reasonable deadlines, document work, and communicate status without frequent oversight.
• Strong customer service, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter who can operate independently at a remote office while collaborating effectively with colleagues across multiple locations.
• Ability to participate in occasional after-hours maintenance and travel to other company offices as business needs require.
Preferred Skills / Nice to Have:
• Hands-on VMware administration experience and familiarity with migration planning or transition to Proxmox.
• Experience administering Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Experience with PowerShell automation for software installation, endpoint remediation, Microsoft 365 administration, inventory, and reporting.
• Experience with backup systems, disaster recovery, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, and cybersecurity best practices, including MFA.
• Experience supporting engineering software such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley products, Bluebeam, ETAP, or EMTP.
• Familiarity with remote monitoring and management tools, help desk or IT service management platforms, and remote access utilities.
• Experience creating SOPs, technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and end-user training materials.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Server+, Microsoft AZ-900, MS-900, SC900, VMware VCP, or comparable credentials.
Success in this role requires:

• Knowing when to work independently and when to involve other IT team members or escalate a risk.
• Being comfortable shifting between infrastructure administration, automation, and direct end-user support.
