ACCOUNTING COORDINATOR


A Typical Week May Look Like Thisโ€ฆ

NetForum Ownership + Receivables (A/R)

  • Prepare and process customer invoices for AFPโ€™s global products, applying internal accounting and internal control policies and assessing unique sales transactions to determine the correct invoicing approach.
  • Maintain inventory and CRM profiles in NetForum with a strong focus on data integrity, and assist with preparing and reviewing batches in NetForum.
  • Manage queries and reporting in NetForum and Sage Intacct, tracking and analyzing significant volumes of data (primarily in Excel).
  • Demonstrate understanding of revenue recognition and deferred revenue concepts and maintain Net Forum accordingly.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on receivable balances and invoice questions; complete customer vendor forms while understanding the legal implications of information provided.

Payables (A/P)

  • Manage multiple finance department inboxes and respond to vendor/internal inquiries as needed.
  • Code invoices and initiate invoice approval workflow in Concur; manage expense reports for the Finance purchase card.
  • Maintain vendor records in Sage Intacct and Concur, ensuring system alignment and strong data hygiene to support compliance and streamlined tax filings.
  • Maintain and organize vendor contracts, agreements, and supporting documentation; research and resolve A/P issues.
  • Identify and research payments not cleared timely.

Accounting Support / Close / Audit (Accounting background preferred)

  • Assist with month-end close by completing assigned tasks and journal entries and supporting month-end processes.
  • Assist with audit preparation by providing samples/supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to documentation of workflows and process improvements that strengthen internal controls and accuracy across A/R, A/P, and related accounting processes.

  • NetForum experience required, including maintaining records/data integrity, running queries, supporting billing operations, and assisting with batch processes.
  • Interest in building a foundation in accounting (A/R, A/P, month-end close support, journal entries, audit support), or prior exposure in a finance/accounting environment.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort handling significant volumes of data with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience (or willingness to learn quickly) with financial/operational systems such as Sage Intacct, Concur, and related reporting workflows.
  • 2โ€“4 years of experience in accounting/finance required
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent hands-on experience preferredA process-improvement mindset: you enjoy creating/maintaining SOPs, streamlining workflows, training internal partners, and juggling multiple competing priorities.
  • Must be able to work East Coast hours
