You may also provide technical support. To become a .NET web developer, you typically need an understanding of .NET framework and technology, relevant programming experience, and a strong portfolio of work. Although technical ability may be considered more important than formal education for this career, some employers prefer candidates to also have a four-year degree in a computer-related field.

To thrive as a .NET Web Developer, you need strong programming skills in C#, ASP.NET, and web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, typically supported by a relevant degree or certifications. Familiarity with Visual Studio, SQL Server, and version control systems like Git is essential, along with knowledge of frameworks like .NET Core and tools for CI/CD. Staying up to date with the latest .NET technologies and best practices can also help ease the transition and prevent future technical debt.
