Job description

Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville Recovery Center provides a peaceful retreat for those looking to heal from addiction and mental illness. To ensure individualized care for all clients, our specialists work with each client to develop a personalized treatment plan that best suits their specific wants and needs. Asheville Recovery Center is currently accepting applications for Behavioral Health Technicians.
JOB DUTIES
  • Provide supervision and support to clients at Asheville Recovery Center
  • Offer clients guidance about recovery using the 12-step model, Refuge Recovery, or other established models.
  • Facilitating daily schedule of Asheville Recovery Center
  • Conduct random urinalysis drug testing twice weekly and as outlined procedurally
  • Monitor client's presence through daily rounds
  • Monitor all drug tests by observing samples being provided via same sex staff to client interaction
  • Document all results of each sample provided and have the client sign and date the form used
  • Report any unusual client behavior or suspicious activity to the Operations Director/ BHT Supervisor
  • Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere strictly to confidentiality requirements
  • Comply with all Asheville Recovery Center's policies and procedures
  • Adhere to established standards of hygiene and universal infection control procedures in handling all samples and supplies.
    Support daily tasks and operations as needed
  • Help facilitate the first initial part of the intake process and procedure

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
  • Able to maintain a head count of facility clients hourly
  • Identify client needs, concerns, and/or problems
  • Understanding Competency of hand washing and hygiene
  • Provide support regarding rules, policies, and procedures
  • Identify key personnel the client can access
  • Explain and clarify daily schedules
  • Identify the whereabouts of all clients
  • Establish a "supportive" relationship
  • Instill a sense of hope, purpose, and caring
  • Give information and reinforcement regarding program expectations
  • Identify difficulties with completing responsibilities
  • Clarify confusion regarding program expectations
  • Clarify program rules and policies
  • Be aware of ALL program services and treatments
  • Redirect inappropriate behaviors by clarifying expectations and policies
  • Point out inappropriate behaviors that may be interfering with program expectations and responsibilities.
  • Reinforce positive behaviors
  • Review orientation handbook/manual
  • Assess living environment and safety issues
  • Ensuring program compliance
  • Ensuring client is demonstrating motivation towards life change
  • Ensuring every client is demonstrating behaviors that are a role model to others
  • Document inappropriate behavior when necessary
  • Make timely and accurate entries into the daily shift report
  • Complete daily assignments/tasks as required and instructed by the supervisor
  • Complete incident reports as needed
  • Complete UA/BA on clients
  • Searching client's luggage, cars, personal belongings
  • Ensure and promote a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment
  • Provides crisis intervention to patients as needed
  • Completes records as required
  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • 21 years of age
  • Able to drive a 14-passenger van

Job Type: Full-time
Starting Salary: $18.00 per hour
